CBSE Board Exams 2027: No Change in Class 10 Pass Criteria

CBSE Board Exams 2027 Class 10 passing criteria clarified

CBSE Board Exams 2027 will retain the existing Class 10 passing criteria, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified. Students must secure at least 33% marks in a subject by combining their internal assessment and external examination scores. The assessment structure will continue with an 80:20 division between the board examination and internal assessment. CBSE issued the clarification after confusion arose over wording in the Class 9–10 curriculum document for the 2026–27 academic session. The board confirmed that there is no change in the assessment pattern or passing criteria from 2025–26. CBSE has also said that there is no change in the question-paper design for the 2026–27 academic year. Sample Question Papers and Marking Schemes for Classes 10 and 12 have been released to help students understand the examination format. The detailed 2027 date sheet is expected to be released in October.
