NEET PG Counselling 2026 gets a major seat boost as the National Medical Commission has released the institute- and course-wise seat matrix for postgraduate medical admissions for 2026–27. The latest data lists around 58,000 MD, MS and diploma seats, compared with 52,173 seats last year, marking an increase of 5,827 seats. Private and deemed medical universities have recorded a larger increase in seats, while government medical colleges have also expanded their intake. The matrix provides details of participating institutions, postgraduate courses and approved annual seat intake. However, NMC has clarified that the current seat matrix may be revised following decisions by the Appeal Committee or other competent authorities. Applications for additional seats or new PG courses that remain pending approval are not included. Candidates should therefore check the latest NMC and counselling updates before making their choices.
