NTA Exam Security Overhaul 2026: Key Changes Explained

NTA Exam Security Overhaul 2026 with new examination security measures

NTA Exam Security Overhaul 2026 has introduced several measures to strengthen the security and conduct of major national-level examinations. The National Testing Agency has moved its confidential operations to a new facility at the Government of India Press Building on Minto Road, New Delhi. The facility covers more than 55,000 square feet and has 39 CISF personnel for security. The agency is also implementing standard operating procedures covering question-paper preparation, translation, printing, packing, tracking, transportation and examination-day processes. Additional measures include Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, facial authentication, CCTV monitoring, mobile jammers and AI-based tools. NTA is also restructuring its organisation around functional areas and adding officials and specialists from different services. A High-Powered Task Force is examining whether NEET-UG should shift from pen-and-paper to computer-based testing, while considering infrastructure and accessibility concerns. The changes follow concerns surrounding examination security and are intended to strengthen procedures for exams including NEET, JEE Main and CUET.
