PISA 2025 Math Scores highlight major differences in mathematics performance among 91 countries and economies assessed by the OECD. Students from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang in China recorded the highest mathematics score at 612 points. Singapore followed with 563 points, while Macao and Chinese Taipei also ranked among the top performers. The United States recorded 463 points, matching the OECD average, while Canada scored 485 points. The OECD reported that more than 760,000 students participated in PISA 2025, representing around 33 million 15-year-olds globally. The assessment measures how effectively students apply mathematics knowledge and skills to real-world situations. The latest results also show that average mathematics performance across OECD countries has declined compared with previous assessment cycles. The findings provide education systems with data for examining student learning, curriculum approaches and broader factors affecting academic performance. India is absent from PISA 2025 because it did not participate in the assessment; after its 2009 participation, the government had focused on its own National Achievement Survey.
