MEA Internship 2026 applications are now open for the October intake of the Ministry of External Affairs internship programme. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online until September 27, 2026. The programme is open to Indian citizens who have completed a graduate degree from a recognised university. Final-year undergraduate students can also apply if an internship is mandatory under their curriculum. Selected interns will receive an honorarium of ₹10,000 per month. The Ministry will also provide one-time to-and-fro air travel expenses, subject to the prescribed economy-class airfare ceiling. The shortlisted candidates will be announced on October 7, followed by interviews through videoconferencing on October 17. The final list of selected candidates is scheduled for October 23. The internship provides exposure to the Ministry’s functioning, including research, report writing and analysis of foreign policy-related developments.
