IIT Kanpur AI Training will equip 900 secondary-school teachers, DIET lecturers and SCERT officials with digital and AI skills. IIT Kanpur announced the expansion of its Digital Literacy & Computational Thinking Concepts for Teachers programme on September 18, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government and SCERT. The eight-week blended programme combines classroom sessions at IIT Kanpur with online learning, mentoring and practical assignments. Training will cover digital foundations, productivity tools, spreadsheets, creativity, artificial intelligence, block-based programming and introductory Python. The programme will be delivered through six batches of 150 participants each. Teachers and other participants who complete the required quizzes, assignments, projects and capstone presentation will receive a joint certificate from SCERT Uttar Pradesh and IIT Kanpur. The initiative expands an earlier teacher-training effort and reflects the growing focus on preparing educators to integrate technology and computational thinking into school education.
