TechnoSport IIT Delhi collaboration is set to strengthen research and innovation in high-performance sports textiles. TechnoSport will invest ₹4.5 crore over three years to establish the TechnoSport Center for Research and Entrepreneurship in Sports Textile, or T-CREST, at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus. The centre will focus on research, prototyping and developing sports products based on athlete requirements. Initially, T-CREST will work across five sports — endurance running, badminton, cricket, volleyball and soccer. The initiative aims to convert research outcomes into commercially viable products for athletes and eventually consumers. T-CREST will also function as an incubation platform for startups working on sports-textile solutions. TechnoSport may provide up to ₹20 lakh in seed funding to selected startups and could support manufacturing, distribution and product development. The company expects innovations and potential sports-specific products or brands to emerge from the initiative over the next two to three years, making it a long-term investment in India’s sportswear technology ecosystem.
