Mumbai Student JEE Advanced Success has become an inspiring example of determination and perseverance. Abhishek Sujit Sharma, who grew up in Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Nagar, prepared for one of India’s toughest engineering entrance exams despite limited financial resources. His father worked as a labourer at a steel fabrication company, while the family lived in a small rented home costing ₹3,000 a month. Abhishek did not have reliable internet or an ideal study environment. When his mobile data ran out, he would go to the terrace and use a neighbour’s Wi-Fi to continue his preparation. He relied on available online learning resources instead of expensive coaching. His hard work helped him crack JEE Advanced, securing an All India Rank of 2456 and an OBC-NCL rank of 415. He eventually secured admission to IIT Delhi, becoming the first IITian from his slum community.
