IIT Bombay Engineers Day 2026 was observed on September 15 with a programme honouring Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and recognising achievements in engineering research, technology development and campus infrastructure. The event was held at the PC Saxena Auditorium, with S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro, attending as chief guest. IIT Bombay presented several awards during the programme, including the International Award for Excellence in Research in Engineering and Technology, Dr P K Patwardhan Technology Development Award 2025, C1973 Faculty Awards for Research Excellence 2026 and Prof S L Mehndiratta Award 2026. Best Zonal Work Awards were also presented, including the Outstanding Young Engineer Award. The technology development award recognised research on integrated CO₂ capture and conversion technology. The event highlighted the role of engineering research and innovation in addressing emerging technological and societal challenges.
