BRICS AI Education Framework could help member countries develop common guidelines for using artificial intelligence in education. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh has called for cooperation among BRICS nations to address concerns over excessive AI use by students. According to Singh, overdependence on AI could affect students’ cognitive thinking and learning abilities. He suggested developing shared frameworks and assessment methods that countries can adapt to their education systems. The proposal comes as BRICS nations have already supported safe, ethical and human-centred use of AI in education. AI could also play a positive role in examinations. The NTA is exploring its use for generating questions, validating content, analysing examination data and translating questions into multiple languages. The discussion highlights the need to balance technology with human skills. For students, the goal is not to avoid AI but to use it responsibly while maintaining independent thinking, creativity and problem-solving abilities.
