Karnataka ISRO Student Interaction Plan to Promote Science Learning

Students interacting with scientists during a science education programme

Karnataka ISRO student interaction plans aim to make science education more practical by connecting students directly with scientists and space researchers. Karnataka Science and Technology Minister Ajay Dharam Singh has sought ISRO’s support for programmes at science centres across the state. Students could get opportunities to learn about space science, satellite technology, scientific research and careers in science and technology. Karnataka is already expanding hands-on science initiatives through mobile planetariums and telescope-based learning. The Mobile Digital Planetarium programme has reached 3,282 schools and benefited more than 5.46 lakh students and teachers. The proposed ISRO scientist-student programme could take similar opportunities to districts and taluks, allowing students outside major cities to interact with scientists. Such exposure could help students connect classroom science with real research and encourage curiosity, scientific thinking and interest in future STEM careers.
