NIT Durgapur Antara Sarkar turned her engineering background into an AI entrepreneurship journey, learning software development while pregnant and building her own startup. After nearly eight years in engineering, Sarkar decided to develop technical skills herself following challenges with technical dependence in an earlier venture. She joined Scaler to learn software development, data engineering and machine learning while balancing work and family responsibilities. Her journey eventually led to Vedaz.io, an AI-powered astrology platform launched in 2023. The platform combines AI astrologers with human experts and supports conversations in Indian languages and regional idioms. According to Sarkar, Vedaz now receives more than 200,000 daily impressions and around 2,500 daily consultations across AI and human astrologers. She also learned SEO, digital growth, analytics and operations to expand the platform. The bootstrapped startup is now exploring international expansion, including the US market.
