Karnataka Village Libraries AI Computers in Digital Push

AI-enabled computers being introduced in Karnataka village libraries and Arivu Kendras

Karnataka village libraries AI computers initiative is set to strengthen digital learning in rural areas. The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, in collaboration with Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation, will introduce AI-enabled computers at village Arivu Kendras. In the first phase, 1,912 AI-enabled computers will be installed at two centres in every Assembly constituency. The programme will later expand to other centres. The computers will support multiple connectivity options and include educational content based on the DSERT syllabus for Classes 8 to 10. An AI-enabled chatbot called “Buddh” will help students understand and access educational content more easily. Officials said the initiative could particularly benefit rural students who have limited access to advanced digital learning tools. The government also plans to strengthen infrastructure, provide more books and furniture, and improve digital access through village libraries.
