Online Postgraduate Courses in India are changing as learners increasingly look beyond traditional MBA programmes for specialised skills. A recent College Vidya report shows that MCA enrolments grew 61.7% year-on-year, while MSc enrolments increased 60.3%. In comparison, MBA enrolments grew 10.1%. The MBA remains the largest online postgraduate programme, accounting for 69.6% of enrolments. However, its share has fallen from 73.7% last year. MCA and MSc together now represent about one in five postgraduate enrolments. The rise is linked to growing demand for technology, data, artificial intelligence and specialised scientific skills. Machine Learning and AI already account for 3.6% of postgraduate enrolments. The trend suggests that students and working professionals are focusing more on career-relevant skills when choosing higher education in the AI era.
