The restriction will take effect from October 5, 2026.The decision is the first time the Australian government has used its newly granted powers to stop international enrolments in a specific course. Authorities cited concerns over possible misuse of the student visa system, high visa refusal rates and low course completion rates.The course is offered by multiple vocational education and training providers in Australia. Existing international students will not be affected and can continue their studies. However, education providers will not be permitted to enrol new overseas students in the programme after the effective date.
