SBI Hiring 12,000 personnel in FY27 is expected to create new opportunities across clerical and officer positions, according to SBI Chairman C S Setty. The bank expects to make around 11,000 to 12,000 appointments during the financial year, although the final number could change depending on retirements and staffing requirements. SBI also plans to add around 200 to 250 branches on a net basis during FY27. The bank had recruited 25,633 employees in 2025–26, including 4,640 officers, 19,340 associates and 1,653 contractual staff. Setty said last year’s hiring was higher partly because SBI recruited 1,500 specialist IT officers. The latest announcement does not represent a specific recruitment notification or application opening. Students and banking aspirants should wait for official SBI recruitment notifications for vacancies, eligibility criteria, application dates and examinations.
