NTA AICTE Testing Centres plan aims to expand the network of facilities available for computer-based examinations, including NEET-UG from next year. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has asked the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to help identify suitable government institutions across the country. AICTE has asked government technical universities and higher education institutions to provide details of their available IT infrastructure and vacant or unused spaces. The information will help to assess whether campuses can be developed into Standard Testing Centres. Institutions are being asked to share details about computers, internet connectivity, power backup, CCTV facilities, security arrangements and available space. Information about IT staff and technical support is also being assessed. The move comes as NTA prepares to shift NEET-UG to computer-based testing next year. The expanded network could help provide students with more accessible and better-equipped examination centres.
