Teacher’s Day : What Students Really Think About Their Teachers

Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in accordance with his wish.

For students, Teachers’ Day is more than a celebration. Their responses show how teachers are remembered for their kindness, patience, encouragement, discipline and the confidence instill in them. From favourite classroom memories to simple messages of appreciation, these thoughts reveal the meaningful bond between teachers and students.

Behind every curious mind is a teacher who inspires, guides and encourages it to grow. This Teachers’ Day, we asked our students a few simple questions about the teachers who make a difference in their lives. These heartfelt answers offer a glimpse into how young minds see their teachers—not just as educators, but as mentors, role models and sources of kindness, confidence and inspiration.

A teacher’s greatest impact goes beyond textbooks and marks. Students remember the kindness that comforted them, the encouragement that gave them confidence, and the lessons that helped them become better individuals. This Teachers’ Day, let us celebrate the teachers who inspire minds, shape character and make a lasting difference in students’ lives.

These heartfelt responses from students remind us that a teacher’s influence is often found in the simplest moments—an encouraging word, a patient explanation, a kind gesture or a belief in a child’s potential. Their words are a beautiful reminder that the lessons taught by great teachers stay with students long after the classroom ends, becoming memories, values and inspiration for life.
