AICTE Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellowship has been launched to support research that can lead to products, startups, technology transfer and solutions to real-world problems. The programme has a projected outlay of ₹245 crore over five years and will support 150 PhD scholars. Selected scholars will receive ₹60,000 per month plus applicable HRA during the first three years. The fellowship will increase to ₹70,000 per month plus HRA for the next two years. Each scholar may also receive an Innovation Grant of up to ₹10 lakh for prototype development, testing, field trials, data collection and related research activities. The programme also encourages collaboration with industries, startups, research organisations and incubators, with optional industrial exposure of six to 12 months.
