Karnataka English Teacher Recruitment 2026: Aspirants Seek Fair Share

Karnataka English Teacher Recruitment 2026 has become a concern for English teacher aspirants in the state, who are seeking a fairer share of vacancies in the Graduate Primary Teacher (GPT) recruitment. The Karnataka School Education Department has announced 8,500+ GPT posts as part of its larger teacher recruitment drive. Only 643 of the 8000+ GPT posts have been allocated to English teachers. Candidates say this is much lower than the number of posts offered for Kannada and other subjects. They are also concerned that many districts have very few or no English teacher posts. However, the number of English-language teaching posts has raised concerns among candidates. Aspirants argue that English is an important subject in government schools and that more vacancies should be provided for qualified English teachers. They are seeking greater clarity and a more balanced allocation of posts. The recruitment drive covers several subjects, including Kannada, English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. The issue has highlighted the demand for adequate subject-wise teacher recruitment to ensure students receive proper classroom support.
