IIM Bangalore undergraduate students in first 2026 batch

IIM Bangalore UG Programme 2026 has officially begun with the institute welcoming its first-ever undergraduate cohort of 80 students from 20 states. The inaugural batch has joined the BSc Honours programmes in Data Sciences and Economics at the newly established Dorabji Tata School of Undergraduate Studies. The programme marks IIM Bangalore’s entry into undergraduate education and introduces an interdisciplinary academic model combining data sciences, economics, communication, ethics and broader social sciences. The institute’s official undergraduate portal says the initial annual cohort will total 80 students, with 40 students admitted to each programme. The development is significant for students considering undergraduate pathways that combine quantitative skills with economics and multidisciplinary learning. It also signals a broader shift among premier Indian institutions towards specialised undergraduate programmes designed around data, technology and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
