AI Literacy in India is becoming increasingly important as artificial intelligence moves into everyday workplace activities. Professionals are using AI for research, writing, data analysis, coding and routine tasks, making the ability to use these tools effectively a basic workplace skill. According to ADP Research’s People at Work 2026 report, 80% of employees in India use AI multiple times a week, while 41% use it nearly every day. Deloitte’s 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise report also found that 40% of Indian respondents reported significant or full AI usage. AI literacy involves more than knowing how to operate an AI tool. Workers need to write effective prompts, verify AI-generated information, protect sensitive data and understand when human judgement is required. Communication, critical thinking, creativity and domain expertise will remain equally important as AI becomes integrated into different professions.
