Exam Reforms 2026: Nandan Nilekani Panel Seeks Student Views

Nandan Nilekani led panel seeking public suggestions on examination reforms

Exam reforms 2026 are moving into a public-consultation phase as a Nandan Nilekani-led task force invites suggestions from students, parents, teachers and citizens. The six-member High-Powered Task Force on reforms in public examinations is seeking ideas on making examinations more secure, transparent and reliable. Suggestions can be submitted in English, Hindi and regional languages through multiple channels, including WhatsApp, email, a website and a toll-free helpline. The consultation remains open until September 13. The task force was established amid concerns surrounding examination integrity and the functioning of the National Testing Agency. For students and parents, the consultation is significant because recommendations could influence how major entrance and recruitment examinations are designed, conducted and secured in the future. The process also allows education stakeholders to raise practical concerns around paper leaks, technology, candidate verification, examination centres and grievance mechanisms.
