IIT Kanpur SATHEE has witnessed a sharp rise in registrations following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a national online coaching initiative. The free coaching platform recorded 1.54 lakh new registrations between August 15 and 22, compared with just 200–300 registrations per day before the announcement. Registrations peaked at 41,600 on August 18, up from 5,100 on August 15. SATHEE, launched in November 2023, supports students preparing for engineering and medical entrance examinations. The platform is being enhanced with AI-powered features and improved learning content, with a new version planned for launch on October 2. The initiative aims to expand access to quality exam preparation, particularly in southern and northeastern states. Punjab currently has the highest number of SATHEE registrations.
