Amaravati Quantum AI University is set to become a major centre for quantum technology and artificial intelligence in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has backed the initiative as part of the state’s broader efforts to establish Amaravati as a hub for emerging technologies. The ₹730.70-crore project will be developed on 8.5 acres with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. While the permanent campus is being developed, classes and skill programmes are scheduled to begin from September 2026 at a temporary facility at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur. The university is expected to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD and diploma programmes covering quantum computing, quantum security, AI, machine learning, data science, VLSI, chip design, semiconductors and high-performance computing. The project aims to train 8,250 learners over five years and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s emerging deep-tech ecosystem.
