IIM Bangalore UG programme has attracted strong interest even before its first classes begin. Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has selected 80 students for the inaugural BSc (Hons) cohort in Data Sciences and Economics at its new Jigani-Anekal campus. The institute received around 12,000 applications, with 453 candidates shortlisted for interviews. The first batch includes 56 boys and 24 girls, with 39 students each from Commerce and Science backgrounds and two from Arts and Humanities. Classes are scheduled to begin on August 31, 2026. Each programme has 40 seats. The launch marks IIM Bangalore’s entry into undergraduate education and gives students an opportunity to study data-driven disciplines at an institution traditionally known for management education.
