Study in France for Indian students is gaining fresh attention as France expands its education outreach and targets 30,000 Indian students by 2030. On August 23, France announced a four-city education outreach tour in India involving more than 50 French institutions. The initiative aims to provide students and families with information about courses, scholarships, visas, accommodation and student life. France and India have already set a long-term target of increasing Indian student numbers in France, with stronger cooperation planned in higher education, innovation and artificial intelligence. For Indian students, France offers another option beyond the more commonly considered destinations such as the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Students planning to apply should compare tuition fees, living costs, course language, scholarships and post-study opportunities before making a decision. They should also check current visa requirements because financial requirements are updated from August 1, 2026.
