TISS AI School is set to expand opportunities for students interested in analytics, artificial intelligence and sustainability. The Tata Institute of Social Sciences has established its new School of Analytics and AI, with two academic programmes: a master’s in analytics and a bachelor’s in analytics and sustainability. The school combines technical learning with social-science perspectives, reflecting the growing need for responsible and socially relevant technology. TISS said the school will focus on areas including Artificial Intelligence and Society and Sustainability Transitions. It also plans research labs focused on AI governance and sustainability metrics, along with collaborations involving public institutions and industry. Executive education programmes and international collaborations are also planned. The initiative could appeal to students seeking careers that combine data, AI, policy and social impact rather than following a purely technical pathway.
