Karnataka Public Schools are set for a major upgrade with a ₹2,500 crore investment planned over four years to improve 500 government schools across the state. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide ₹1,750 crore, while the Karnataka government will contribute ₹750 crore. The project will focus on strengthening school infrastructure and learning facilities, with each selected school aiming to serve at least 1,200 students. Karnataka Public Schools provide education from pre-primary to II PU under one roof, with Kannada and English-medium options. The revamp will also support bilingual education, teacher training, specialised Computer Science teachers and the introduction of AI education. Vocational and skill-based learning and safer transportation for rural students are also part of the plan. A DPR for the first 100 schools has already been prepared, while ₹262.5 crore of ADB assistance has been released.
