IIM Bangalore undergraduate programmes are set for further development with a landmark philanthropic commitment from Tata Trusts. The support will help to strengthen the institute’s new undergraduate school, including its academic vision, campus development and long-term institutional plans. IIM Bangalore has launched residential undergraduate programmes combining economics, data science and business studies through an interdisciplinary curriculum. The first cohort comprises 80 students, with 40 students enrolled in each programme. The School of Undergraduate Studies is expected to expand into areas including Economics, Mathematics and Data Science, Psychology and Behavioural Science, and Sustainability. The initiative also focuses on faculty development, research and infrastructure. Research areas are expected to include artificial intelligence, data science, algorithmic design, Indian Knowledge Systems and applied business learning. Once fully operational, the school is projected to accommodate around 2,400 students and 100 full-time faculty members.
