UGC NET Retest 2026 is now confirmed for candidates who appeared in English, Commerce, and Sociology during the June examination. The Centre told the Delhi High Court on August 19 that the English and Commerce papers retest will be held on September 9, while Sociology will be conducted on September 10. The decision follows complaints about errors in the question papers of the three subjects. The National Testing Agency had earlier formed a committee to examine the complaints. UGC-NET June 2026 was conducted from June 22 to 30 across 87 subjects for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor eligibility, and PhD admissions. Candidates affected by the retest should watch for the detailed examination instructions and admit-card information from NTA. The development may also affect result timelines for candidates in the three subjects.
