NITK AI Curriculum 2026 is shaping the learning experience for the 1,066 students admitted to the National Institute of Technology Karnataka’s 2026–2030 BTech batch. During the induction programme, NITK Director Prof B Ravi highlighted the need for students to combine AI with capabilities such as curiosity, creativity, empathy, ethics, judgement and communication. The redesigned curriculum, developed over three years, includes life-skill activities spanning sports, creative arts, model fabrication and professional communication. Students can also pursue a parallel minor focused on product design, fabrication and business-plan development. NITK has set an aspirational target of 100 student startups over the next four years. The approach reflects an important shift in engineering education: technical knowledge is increasingly being paired with human skills, innovation and entrepreneurship as AI changes the nature of future jobs.
