Google Gemini for Students is receiving a major update as Google offers eligible college students one year of a Google AI plan at no cost. Google announced the student offer on August 19 alongside a dedicated student hub containing study tools. Eligible students in the United States can receive Google AI Pro, while eligible college students outside the US are offered Google AI Plus under the announced programme. The student hub includes tools for creating study notebooks, flashcards and practice quizzes. Gemini can also help students organise course materials and create customised learning plans. Google says interactive visualisations can be used to explore complex concepts through functional 3D simulations. Students should check the eligibility and country-specific terms before assuming which plan is available to them. The development highlights the growing integration of generative AI into everyday academic study and organisation.
