NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice filling deadline has been extended by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), giving medical aspirants additional time to submit and lock their college preferences. The extension applies to candidates participating in the MCC counselling process for undergraduate medical and dental admissions. Candidates can use the additional time to review their preferred colleges and courses and arrange their choices carefully before locking them. MCC conducts counselling for All India Quota seats and participating institutions, including MBBS and BDS programmes. Seat allotment depends on factors such as NEET rank, category, seat availability and the choices submitted by candidates. Candidates should check the latest revised Round 1 schedule on the official MCC website before completing the process, as the counselling timetable has undergone multiple changes. MCC has also published a revised Round 1 choice filling extended date until 18 August.
