IISc Semiconductor Training 2026: Odisha Students Get Hands-On Exposure

IISc Semiconductor Training 2026 for Odisha students in Bengaluru

IISc Semiconductor Training 2026 was organised for five meritorious Class 10 students from Odisha’s Eklavya Model Residential Schools at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. The two-day programme was conducted under the STEM Initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The students received exposure to semiconductor technology, wafer processing, contamination control and clean-room safety. They also visited advanced laboratories, including facilities for optical, electrical and mechanical research, as well as Transmission Electron Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. The programme introduced students to semiconductor fabrication, precision manufacturing and laboratory safety. A dedicated career guidance session also highlighted opportunities in science, technology, engineering, nanotechnology and semiconductor research. The initiative aims to encourage talented tribal students to pursue higher education and careers in emerging technology fields while giving them access to advanced scientific infrastructure at one of India’s premier research institutions. IISc’s CeNSE also conducts semiconductor fabrication and characterisation training programmes as part of broader efforts to develop semiconductor skills in India.
