Karnataka NEET NTA concerns have resurfaced as writers and progressive thinkers in the state have urged Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to consider passing a resolution against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the National Testing Agency (NTA). The demand focuses on concerns surrounding the centralised examination system and its impact on students, particularly those from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The group has called for greater attention to the challenges faced by students preparing for a highly competitive national-level examination. Karnataka has previously raised objections to NEET. In July 2024, the Karnataka Assembly passed a resolution urging the Centre to exempt the state from NEET and allow medical admissions through the state’s Common Entrance Test (CET). The latest appeal has brought the debate back into focus, with questions over centralised medical admissions, examination fairness and equal opportunities for students.
