Karnataka Freedom Movement Exhibition in Bengaluru will bring attention to lesser-known chapters of the State’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle. The exhibition, titled “Bengaluru ’47: Forgotten Stories of Freedom,” is scheduled from August 14 to 23, 2026, at RBANM’s High School. The initiative aims to help visitors discover how Bengaluru and the wider Karnataka region experienced the freedom movement, including stories that have received less attention in mainstream accounts. Such exhibitions can provide students with an opportunity to understand history beyond textbooks by connecting historical events with local places, people and communities. The Ministry of Culture has also highlighted the importance of museums and exhibitions in helping children and young people learn about India’s freedom movement. For students, the exhibition offers a useful opportunity to explore Karnataka’s historical role in the independence movement and understand the regional stories behind India’s national struggle.
