CBSE Conceptual Thinking Module for Classes 3–8: What Changes

CBSE Conceptual Thinking Module for Classes 3 to 8

CBSE Conceptual Thinking Module is part of the Board’s broader move towards skill-based and future-ready school education. The new approach for Classes 3 to 8 focuses on helping students understand concepts, apply knowledge and solve problems rather than depending mainly on rote learning. The initiative is aligned with CBSE’s new Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence (CT&AI) curriculum introduced for Classes 3 to 8 from the 2026–27 academic session. The curriculum develops logical, critical, analytical and visual-spatial thinking abilities through age-appropriate learning activities. The framework also includes AI awareness, ethics and unplugged learning, helping students understand technology while developing independent thinking skills. For students, the change means greater emphasis on understanding, questioning, analysing and applying concepts. Teachers will also play an important role in using inquiry-based and activity-oriented methods in classrooms.
