According to Indeed’s AI Jobs Tracker, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are emerging as new hubs for artificial intelligence recruitment as employers look for skilled talent beyond traditional metros. While Tier-1 cities continue to account for the largest share of AI hiring growth, smaller cities are gaining attention from employers. Nearly one in four employers now view Tier-2 and Tier-3 locations as the next frontier for AI recruitment. The shift is being supported by remote and hybrid work, improved digital infrastructure and the availability of skilled professionals outside major technology hubs. Other reports also indicate that cities such as Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Indore, Nagpur, Chengalpattu and Coimbatore are contributing to India’s expanding AI talent pool.
