IIT Madras Para Athlete Scholarship 2026 has been launched in collaboration with SBI Foundation to strengthen India’s para-sports ecosystem. Under Phase 2 of the programme, 80 para-athletes (40 men and 40 women) across eight Paralympic disciplines will receive a ₹40,000 monthly scholarship for one year. Besides financial assistance, selected athletes will benefit from sports science-based performance assessments, personalised coaching support, and sports nutrition guidance to enhance their competitive performance. Eligible para-athletes who have represented their state or India in recognised competitions can apply online until August 9, 2026. IIT Madras said the initiative builds on the success of Phase 1, where scholarship recipients collectively won 70 national and international medals, highlighting the programme’s positive impact on India’s para-sports community.
