Drug-Free Campuses Guidelines 2026 aim to strengthen anti-drug measures in higher education institutions through awareness, counselling, and strict enforcement against drug abuse and trafficking. Drug-Free Campuses Guidelines 2026 have been proposed by the Ministry of Education to create safer and healthier learning environments across universities and colleges. The draft guidelines recommend awareness campaigns, counselling services, institutional anti-drug committees, and voluntary, consent-based drug screening as preventive measures. Colleges will also work closely with local authorities to identify and address substance abuse while promoting rehabilitation and student well-being.The initiative comes as the Central Government reiterated in the Lok Sabha that a zero-tolerance policy against drug traffickers is already in force across the country. The government stated that coordinated action is being taken through central and state agencies to curb drug trafficking networks and protect young people from substance abuse. Together, the proposed campus guidelines and the government’s enforcement measures aim to create drug-free educational institutions and ensure a safe academic environment for students.
