IIT BHU and Indian Navy Research Pact marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s defence research ecosystem. The Indian Navy and IIT (BHU) Varanasi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research, technology development, academic engagement, faculty and student interactions, and capacity-building initiatives. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of indigenous maritime technologies under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission. Alongside the agreement, IIT (BHU) inaugurated a Heritage Park on its campus to showcase the institute’s rich engineering history and inspire innovation among students. The collaboration will provide students and researchers with opportunities to work on advanced naval technologies while strengthening ties between academia and the defence sector, fostering innovation and self-reliance in critical technologies.
