IIT Kanpur Cybersecurity Admission has drawn nationwide attention after the institute considered assessing the technical skills of a student who allegedly hacked the websites of IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras following rejection from its newly launched Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security programme. Instead of immediately pursuing legal action, the institute is reportedly exploring a rehabilitative approach by evaluating the student’s cybersecurity abilities. According to reports, the student left a message requesting “a fair chance” after the alleged cyber intrusion. IIT Kanpur is expected to counsel the student and determine whether he can be considered for a future admission cycle, highlighting the balance between encouraging talent and maintaining cybersecurity and ethical standards.
