Lancaster University Bengaluru Campus is set to become the UK institution’s first campus in India, marking another milestone in Karnataka’s efforts to attract leading international universities. Karnataka Industries Minister M.B. Patil announced that Lancaster University plans to establish a campus in Bengaluru and is also exploring future expansion into the proposed Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation (KWIN) City. The campus is expected to offer globally recognised programmes, enhance research collaborations and provide Indian students with access to an international education without leaving the country. The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages top global universities to establish campuses in India. The development is expected to strengthen Bengaluru’s reputation as a major international education and innovation hub.
