ISRO NISAR Mission has achieved a major milestone with the release of its first S-Band radar dataset, strengthening India’s capabilities in Earth observation and space research. Developed jointly by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and NASA, the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission provides high-resolution radar data for monitoring land deformation, forests, glaciers, agriculture, coastal regions and natural disasters under all weather conditions. The newly released dataset will support researchers, scientists and environmental experts in climate studies, disaster preparedness and sustainable resource management. ISRO said the initiative reflects India’s commitment to open scientific research and global collaboration in space technology. ISRO NISAR Mission is expected to accelerate innovation in remote sensing while providing valuable insights into the Earth’s changing environment.
