Karnataka AI Schools initiative has introduced Artificial Intelligence as a vocational subject in 1,642 government high schools. Students in Classes 9 and 10 will receive practical exposure to AI concepts through specially trained guest faculty and structured learning modules. The programme is designed to develop digital literacy, critical thinking, and future-ready skills while preparing students for careers in emerging technologies. By integrating AI into school education, Karnataka has taken another significant step towards strengthening technology-based learning under the National Education Policy. The initiative is expected to inspire innovation and improve students’ readiness for higher education and employment in the digital economy.
