VTU Scouts and Guides Course has been made mandatory for students studying in affiliated engineering colleges across Karnataka. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has introduced the mandatory Scouts and Guides course for students enrolled in its affiliated engineering colleges. The initiative aims to develop leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, social responsibility, and community service among engineering students. The programme will include practical activities, outdoor training, disaster management awareness, environmental conservation, and personality development. University officials believe the course will help students build life skills beyond academics while encouraging active participation in social welfare activities. Colleges have been instructed to implement the programme as part of the academic curriculum. The decision aligns with VTU’s efforts to provide holistic education and prepare graduates with both technical expertise and strong civic values.
