NEP Degree Students Who Exited After Three Years Asked to Complete Fourth Year

NEP Degree students who exited after three years are now being encouraged to complete the fourth year. Students who completed only three years of undergraduate education under the National Education Policy (NEP) are being encouraged to return and finish the optional fourth year. Completing the additional year allows students to earn an Honours or Honours with Research degree, improving eligibility for higher education, research programmes, and better career opportunities. Universities are expected to provide mechanisms for eligible students to rejoin and complete the remaining academic requirements. Education experts believe the fourth year enhances research skills, multidisciplinary learning, and employability. The initiative supports the objectives of NEP 2020, which promotes flexible academic pathways while ensuring students gain advanced knowledge and practical experience.
