AI Vocational Subject has been introduced for students of Classes 9 and 10 in Karnataka government schools under the Samagra Shikshana programme. The initiative aims to equip students with foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data handling, and digital technologies. The curriculum emphasizes practical learning, problem-solving, and responsible use of AI through hands-on activities. Teachers will receive specialized training, while schools will be supported with digital infrastructure and learning resources. The move aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages skill-based and technology-driven education. Education experts believe the programme will prepare students for future careers in emerging technologies and strengthen digital literacy from the secondary school level.
