IIM Hyderabad Proposal has received a major update after the Union Ministry of Education confirmed that it has received Telangana government’s request to establish an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad. According to the Centre, the proposal is under consideration. At present, India has 22 IIMs across 21 states, while Telangana remains among the few states without one. The state government has been urging the Centre to approve an IIM to strengthen higher education, management studies, innovation, and entrepreneurship. If approved, the institute is expected to boost academic opportunities, attract investments, and enhance Hyderabad’s position as a leading education and technology hub. However, the Centre has not announced any timeline for approval.
